So ALWAYS use the common sense rule when on message boards and chat rooms.

Don't share personal information that would allow someone to find you offline. Think about that carefully... have you shared your full name and city where you live? If so, someone can find you at an online directory if you have a listed telephone number. Don’t share photos of yourself or loved ones with strangers.
Could a virtual Sherlock Homes find you with the information you have posted online? If so, it's time to start deleting that information.
Remember, not everyone on the Web is who they say they are.

PICTURES: Pictures will not be allowed on this board, please share them via email or pm. A picture of your military member as an avatar is allowed IF the picture does NOT show identifying information, i.e.: name, rank, unit, etc. Any picture deemed inappropriate will be removed with out notice.






GATHERINGS: DO NOT hold any gathering in the name of Military Mom's with out prior approval of the administrator.
MM's will NOT be held liable for any damages, injuries, or loss while attending a MM's function.
Any gathering will be local in nature, they are to be posted in the "Coffee Clutch" section of our forums. There will be one post allowed and from that point specific information will be shared via email or pm. There will be no public mention of the dates or locations. A post should be worded as: " I would like to get together with moms in the Saratoga area sometime in the next 2 months, please email me at: your email address or private message me." Moms who live near you will recognize the city named.
Any gathering larger than a local one will NOT be allowed at all (i.e.: a National or Regional gathering). While they are a great idea, it isn't feasible for a number of reasons including no matter where we met, there would be some moms for who it would too far, too expensive, too impossible, etc. And then feelings would be hurt, many would feel left out. The other major issue is liability--MM's is privately owned but here for all to enjoy. Anything done in MM's name is my responsibility – the wonderful things you do to support your family and friends in the military come from your heart, but anything negative that happens is my responsibility. I cannot sanction a national or regional gathering because even if it's done under another name, ultimately it is a reflection of this website. On the practical side, we do not have a fund of any sort that would help defray the costs of a gathering that large. The cost of running this website is personally funded, and therefore not a non-profit organization that could ask for donations. Any hotel we would ask to reserve a block of rooms would want an organization name and I could not allow MM's because of liability reasons.

MM's is not a place to advertise items you sell, posts of this nature will be removed. If you have a site you'd like to share that is for the support of our troops, please ask a moderator if it is OK to post and wait for a reply before doing so. There are links on the main page to many websites, including the Military Moms gift shop, which helps defray the cost of keeping this site going.
